Muskoseepi Park Celebrates 25 Years!

Posted by Terry Van Veen  |  POST A COMMENT

Grande Prairie's Muskoseepi Park is celebrating its 25th Anniversary on Monday (Aug 1).  Activities begin at 11 am at the Amphitheatre with opening remarks by Mayor Bill Given. The park’s mascot, Muskee the Muskosaurus, will help in marking the occasion.

If you're among the first 300 people in attendance you're welcome to enjoy a slice of anniversary cake.    After the anniversary program, Heritage Day will be in full-swing with cultural performances, local displays, and activities for the whole family.  Local vendors will be selling international cuisine and merchandise.

The highlight of the anniversary celebration will be the opening of the time capsule.  The contents will be on display in the Pavilion and include original photos and brochures of Muskoseepi Park 25 years ago.

The Anniversary Legacy Project – the BMX bike park – will open on Monday (August 1) in the South Bear Creek section of Muskoseepi Park. A ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the facility will take place at Noon.
