Gold Coin in Salvation Army Kettle

Posted by Terry Van Veen  |  POST A COMMENT

A gold coin that was dropped into in a Salvation Army Christmas kettle in Brooks, Alberta turns out to be worth a whole lot more than a loonie.  That's because the coin is solid gold.  The coin was wrapped in a five-dollar-bill along with a note explaining it was worth 17-hundred dollars.  The Salvation Army says it’s very thankful for the donation.

The Grande Prairie Salvation Army is looking for volunteers for the Kettle Campaign – until Dec. 23rd.  You can volunteer from Monday – Saturday 10am – 8pm in 2 hour shifts.  If you can help, call Myrna or Lynn at the Salvation Army church 780-538-2848.
