A Piece of Canadian History for Sale!

Posted by Terry Van Veen  |  POST A COMMENT

Canadian Tire is making a play for one of Canada's most valuable pieces of hockey memorabilia.  The company says it will submit an opening bid of 200-thousand dollars for Paul Henderson's famous goal-scoring jersey.   The Team Canada sweater is up for auction in the U-S.   The bidding has reached 192-thousand dollars.   Henderson wore the jersey when he scored the winning goal in the 1972 Summit Series against the Soviet Union.  If its bid is successful, Canadian Tire says it'll take the jersey on a cross-country tour and then lend it to sports and hockey museums.
