It turns out a good laugh is as effective as aerobic exercise when it comes to increasing healthy blood flow. Researchers at the University of Maryland found a 30 to 50 per cent difference in blood vessel diameter between people who watched a comedy compared to a serious drama. That confirms previous studies that show mental stress constricts blood vessels. The lead researcher recommends you eat your veggies, exercise and get a good belly laugh every day.
