GP Storm Game Raises Almost 6K

Posted by Terry Van Veen  |  POST A COMMENT

The numbers are in and they are pretty impressive.  A fundraiser held at the Grande Prairie Storm game on Wednesday (Jan 18) to aid the Heads Strong Foundation raised almost $6,000. The fundraiser was held in the name of Brent Headon, a 13-year-old Grande Prairie bantam hockey player who suffered a severe concussion in a game on Nov. 19. Funds raised will go towards helping the Headon family with rehabilitation as Brent recovers and also towards educating the public about brain and concussion injuries.

The Storm will face Lloydminster tonight (Fri) and tomorrow at the Canada Games Arena.   Tonight's game will focus on raising funds and awareness for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.  Saturday's game will feature the "Teddy Bear Toss" for the QE2 children's ward.  Bring a new stuffed animal to the game and toss it onto the ice when the Storm score their first goal.
