Whining is Distracting

Scientists say the sound of a child's whining has a powerful impact. Researchers at State University of New York found the sound of a whining child was more distracting than a buzz saw when it came to preventing people from solving a math problem. They say even people who didn't have kids made more mistakes when they were subjected to the irritating sound.
