Winter's Over - Finally!

It's a sure sign the winter of 2011 is officially over. A 20-storey-tall pile of snow that was scooped from Edmonton streets during a particularly brutal winter has finally melted.
The last bits of the pile at a west-side lot disappeared during a hot afternoon last Saturday.
What's dubbed Snow Mountain normally melts by the end of July, but city officials say lots of rain this summer, combined with the huge size of the pile, delayed its disappearance.
Work is now underway to level the lot and ready it for this coming winter, which officially begins in just over three months.
