A Friendy Competition!

Which neighbourhood has the best blue baggers? Starting on Monday, residents in each neighbourhood in the city will have a chance to show they want to reduce the waste going to landfill by putting blue bags to the curb. Every kilogram of recycling placed at the curb from October 17 to 21 will be measured. Neighbourhoods will be compared on weight per customer, with the winning neighbourhood winning the title of Aquatera's 2011 Top Recycling Neighbourhood. The title comes with a community event hosted by Aquatera in the spring, and bragging rights for the year. The competition will be kicked off with a proclamation on Monday by Mayor Bill Given, which will kick off National Waste Reduction Week.
