Creative Kids Needed!
The first of 20 new community murals will be painted today. The Centre for Creative Arts and the City of Grande Prairie Crime Prevention have partnered to present a new project this summer “Paint the Town”. Local youth can participate in one of 20 free mural painting workshops taking place at the Centre for Creative Arts over the summer month. Working with their instructor, local artist Leslie Duggan, the youth will create 20 large murals on outdoor fabric. The murals will be displayed at various outdoor locations throughout the City, with a priority on areas in need of beautification. The murals will be on display during the summer months and will be reinstalled around the city every summer, hopefully with more murals created each year. Workshops are 2 hours long and parents can register their kids by calling the Centre for Creative Arts at 780-814-6080.
