New Study on Exercise!

Posted by Tanya Owen  |  POST A COMMENT
Results of a new study show some exercise is better than none when it comes to reducing heart disease risk. Researchers found that two and a-half hours of moderate intensity activity per week can lower the overall risk of heart disease by 14 per cent, compared to people who didn't exercise. They also found at higher levels of activity, the relative heart disease risk was progressively lower. The researchers examined more than three-thousand studies of physical activity and heart disease to offer a look at the amount of exercise a person needs to reduce their risk -- as well has the magnitude of benefit. The study is reported in Circulation, journal of the American Heart Association and on the association's web site.
