Nation at Prayer

From March 30th at 10AM through May 2nd at 11:55PM

Every Christian has the potential to impact the nation powerfully during this election - through prayer. Nation At Prayer, working with other ministries, is encouraging Christians in all 308 constituencies to become engaged in prayer, to ensure that God's purposes for Canada are served through this election.

"We would like to see every constituency covered in prayer every day leading up to the election," said Mel and Susan Finlay, National Directors of Nation At Prayer. "The decisions made by the federal government impact each one of us. It is our great hope that Christians will become knowledgeable about party platforms and the candidates who are running for election in their constituency. We encourage them to pray over their constituency and to prayerfully exercise their right to vote."

An Election Prayer Guide, in both official languages, is available at www.nationatprayer.ca. Suggested prayer items include:

· That the Holy Spirit will guide campaign strategy

· That Candidates will be individuals of integrity, courage, humility, and grace

· That Candidates and their families will be granted wisdom, endurance, and protection

· That the Holy Spirit will guide electors in examining Issues and candidates, and in voting

· That every elector will exercise the right to vote

· That elected candidates will be individuals of vision, perseverance and character who are willing servants

Nation At Prayer is a non-partisan, non-issue, trans-denominational national ministry. Since 2003 they have been meeting with elected representatives at every level of government for prayer, and encouraging Christians to pray for their elected representatives.
